Our review of the annotated history for Title 43, United States Code sections 422a through 422k reveals the following legislative history.  Each public law (hereinafter referred to as Pub.L.) represents a separate congressional enactment or bill.

, June 5, 1957, 71 Stat. 48 to require the Secretary of Interior to notify Congress when a project has been found to be financially feasible and constitutes a reasonable risk according to the terms of the 1956 statute
•  Pub.L. 86-624, July 12, 1960, 74 Stat. 421 to extend the provisions of the 1956 statute to the State of Hawaii
•  Pub.L. 89-553, September 2, 1966, 80 Stat. 376 to provide that the costs of measures to prevent loss of and damage to fish and wildlife resources be considered as project costs
•  Pub.L. 92-167*, November 24, 1971, 85 Stat. 488
•  Pub.L. 94-181*, December 27, 1975, 89 Stat. 1049
•  Pub.L. 96-336*, September 4, 1980, 94 Stat. 1065
•  Pub.L. 97-293*, September 4, 1982, 96 Stat. 1272
* The 1971, 1975, 1980, and 1982 amendments provided for the following provisions: 1) further defined the term “project” and clarified cost-sharing aspects, 2) increased authorization levels, and 3) defined other administrative procedures.
•  Pub.L. 99-546, 1986 provided for the transfer of funds to the Service for work done on these projects pursuant to the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act
•  Pub.L. 103-437, approved November 2, 1994, 108 Stat. 4594, amended the Act by making changes in Congressional committee appropriations jurisdiction over small reclamation projects.
