California Military and Veterans Code Statutory History

Military and Veterans Code: The historical derivation of the 1935 Military and Veterans Code was the 1933 Military Code, which was derived from former Penal Code, Political Code and School Code statutes dating back to 1872. The 1935 Act established the modern Code, revising and consolidating the law relating to the armed forces and militia of the State and relating to military and veterans’ affairs, aid and welfare, institutions, and buildings.

Military and Veterans Code Sections

Section 260: Derived from former Political Code § 1929 added during the 1872 codification of the Political Code.

Section 394: Derived from former Military and Veterans Code § 194, enacted in 1933 and former Penal Code § 421, enacted in 1905.

Section 643.1: Enacted in the 1950 Third Extraordinary Session.

Section 800: Enacted in 2005 as part of the California Military Families Financial Relief Act.

Section 803: Enacted in 2005 as part of the California Military Families Financial Relief Act.

Section 806: Enacted in 2005.

Section 1035.05: Enacted in 1969.
