California Public Contract Code Statutory History

California Public Contract Code Statutory History

Public Contract Code: In 1981, following four major study groups’ recommendations, the Legislature repealed the former State Contract Act that appeared in the Government Code and re-codified it, verbatim, in this newly created Public Contract Code. In addition to the Government Code, former provisions of the Public Contract Code can be traced to former uncodified sections of early acts, and former sections of the Education Code, former Political Code, and the Public Utilities Code.
