California Military and Veterans Code Statutory History

Military and Veterans Code: The historical derivation of the 1935 Military and Veterans Code was the 1933 Military Code, which was derived from former Penal Code, Political Code and School Code statutes dating back to 1872. The 1935 Act established the modern Code, revising and consolidating the law relating to the armed forces and militia of the State and relating to military and veterans’ affairs, aid and welfare, institutions, and buildings.

Military and Veterans Code Sections

M&V Code Section 260: Derived from former Political Code section 1929 added during the 1872 codification of the Political Code.

M&V Code Section 394: Derived from former Military and Veterans Code and Penal Code sections.

M&V Code Section 643.1: Enacted in the third extraordinary session of the 1950 Legislature.

M&V Code Section 806: Enacted by Chapter 291, Statutes of 2005.
