California Financial Code Statutory History
California Financial Code Statutory History
Financial Code: The 1951 Financial Code is derived from the 1949 Banking Code and earlier acts relating to the organization, regulation, and supervision of financial institutions and financial transactions. In 1951, these former acts and the Banking Code provisions were consolidated and revised. The new code also added the Savings and Loan Association Law (now the Savings Association Law). It is not unusual to find identical language in parallel statutes enacted by companion bills that addressed different aspects of this subject matter (i.e., Personal Property Brokers’ Act of 1939 and the Small Loan Act of 1939).
