Our review of the annotated history for Title 1, United State Code section 1 reveals the following legislative history. Each public law (hereinafter referred to as Pub.L.) represents a separate congressional enactment or bill.
Added: July 30, 1947, c. 388, 61 Stat. 633
Amended:
• June 25, 1948, c. 645, § 6, 62 Stat. 859: included “tense”, “whoever”, “signature”, “subscription”, “writing” and a broader definition of “person”.
• October 31, 1951, c. 655, § 1, 65 Stat. 710: substituted, in fourth clause after opening clause, “used” for “use”.
