Delaware Research

Types of Research

Research of the statutes in the Delaware Code (DC) or Delaware Administrative Code (DAC) can be accomplished on an hourly basis of $150 to $200 per hour per enactment or administrative action and be available in approximately one to three weeks. Call us at (800) 666-1917 for a free fee quote.

If your code section of interest has a long and complicated annotated history, we can trace the language for a fee. We would include our trace report and our recommendation. For more information about tracing please visit our explanation on our FAQ page.

Types of Materials You Can Expect

The Delaware State Legislature appears to retain very little on any bill's consideration by the committees. We can obtain copies of the bill, bill synopsis, excerpts from the House and Senate Journals, and sometimes a committee or fiscal note, but depending upon the committee, there may not be much more available. Typically, we work with the enacting state entity, such as the state legislature or relevant state agency.

Regulatory research is provided two ways:
1) tracing of the language to its original adoption; and
2) obtaining the regulatory file maintained by the agency on the rulemaking.
